Hello,
With the War in Iraq, I would like all of us to take time to remember all who have and are currently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces, including the POW / MIA past and present. Many
American troops have been killed or wounded during Operation Iraqi Freedom, Please take some time to remember them I do this every day and will keep doing so!

I have found a number of veterans in my family tree so far, hear are just a few of my relatives that have served this country. First my Great-Great Grandfather, Shawn (John) Devlin, KIA during the Civil War. Second my Great Uncle, William Davis, served during WWI. Third my Grandfather,  Joseph L. Begin, served in the U.S. Army during WWII and in the U.S. Navy Reserve. Both his brothers my Great Uncles, Edward Begin U.S. Navy and Charles Howard Begin U.S. Air Force, made it their careers from WWII through Vietnam. Also six Uncles, served during Vietnam & the Cold War Era and one Cousin involved in Operation Enduring Freedom. I am very proud, to be the descendant of so many veterans who served this country in defense of our freedom.

The "Memorial" in Memorial Day has been ignored by too many of us who are beneficiaries of those who have given the ultimate sacrifice. Often we do not observe the day as it should be, a day where we actively remember our ancestors, our family members, our loved ones, our neighbors, and our friends who have given the ultimate sacrifice:

*  by visiting cemeteries and placing flags or flowers on the graves of our fallen heroes.
*  by visiting memorials.
*  by flying the US Flag at half-staff until noon.
*  by flying the 'POW/MIA Flag' as well

"...that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause
for which they gave the last full measure of devotion, that we here highly
resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain, that this nation under
God, ...and that government of the people by the people and for the people
shall not perish from the earth." --Abraham Lincoln

I will not forget
